then came shouting from the other side of the boat the a huge family of hippos were out the water! this is unusual as they stay in the water from morning til night only getting out to sleep, the pics i got werent great so I've put on a few of them in the water instead. they were funny to watch grunting at eachother, coming up from the water yawning and spinning their ears around! they are the most deadly animal in africa because they kill the most people but funnily enough they are herbivores! they are extremely territorial so if a person gets too close to the edge of the water near their territory they attack and drown them but don't actually eat them. I have to say, when you hear of animals killing humans it normally is the human in the wrong.
the rest of the cruise we saw more animals and birds come down to the river and watched the sunset over it, that was pretty nice, it was a bit cloudy but still nice. below is a pic of some of the people from our truck, Lyndsey, Anna, Norelle, Vicki, Hayley, Young-bin, Nathan and Rebecca, all really nice and made our first week a lot of fun!
This is some of us all at the Waterfront resort/campsite, our home for about 5 days, was nice not having to pack our bags and put up the tent everyday but with only expensive activities on offer we did feel ready to leave by the end of it. all of these people actually left the tour here, some went home others went onto cape town so for those guys hope you had a good one!
