Sara and Gav's Worldwide Tour!

During our stay at Waterfront, I went on a rhinowalk, i should have made gav come too really but he wasn't bothered! anyway, look how close we got to the wide mouth rhinos!! these are a pair, male-female and its quite romantic really because the female has to be completely in love with the male to mate! the male also has to be the most dominant around! only a real male will do. when we first saw them they were lying down and even then they looked huge, they are the second biggest animal after elephant. the horn is made from fingernail like material not bone as commonly thought. after what felt like forever the male finally stood up and showed us how manly he is!! they do this to intimidate other males and show females how dominant they are! they get an erection and swing it around, and to show there all time dominance they hold it up to their bellybutton, this really was hallarious to see! when he decided he had demonstrated enough he put it away and layed down again, obviously that was a lot of work!!! it was great to see the rhinos and get so close to them.

Anyone note the change in my hair!!! i went into Livingstone Town to get my hair braided with Hayley from our tour, only they didnt have blond hair for the extensions so we ended up getting black with a brown streek though it so its ended up a bit multi-coloured! its got the blond in it at the top but when it runs out its just black! at first it felt really heavy especially when wet but now, over a month later it just feels normal, you'll have to see me soon to see it in as I'm taking it out soon!!! hehe!
So anyway, in Livingstone there are the Victoria Falls which go from what you see in the background of this pic in the wet season (ie loads of water) to almost completely dry in the dry season! When we saw it the waterfall was 1.7km long!! you can't actually see the whole waterfall from the ground only sections of it. the water
falls around 100m and you cant see that either because the mist that comes from the falling water. as you walk along you get soaked from every direction from the water rising from below and the mist from the water falling from the top of the fall and it basically feels like you are in torrential rain! we saw so many rainbows, 3 at once in some places, of course none came out in the pictures!! We then walked back and along the river leading to the falls, the second pic gives you an idea of some of the mist that comes of the falls, mad to see it! great views from all around, I've never seen so much water! and can you believe that dry season, the waterfall shrinks to just 300m wide! glad we saw it in it's full glory!

They had a market by the waterfall and i couldn't resist this Bob Marley hat to go with my new rasta sister hair!! cool huh!
